Description:

The Loftis Method for Guitar, Book 2 is a collection of classical pieces, rock'n'roll, blues and folk songs which have been arranged by Mr. Loftis in standard notation for guitar students. Book 2 is usually presented as a sequel to Book 1, but it may also be used as a student's first guitar book at the discretion of the teacher. In Book 2 the student progresses through 70 fun and carefully graded pages which help him/her master note reading and chords in the keys of C, G, D, A E, F and B-Flat Majors. Included in Book 2 are student study sheets to help with basic theory, note spelling for the guitar, plus rhythm and chord practice sheets. Some of the concepts covered in The Loftis Method for Guitar, Book 2 are: note and rest identification, time signatures, division of beat, rhythm study, dotted notes, sharps, flats and naturals, tied notes, eighth-notes, sixteenth-notes, triplets, pick-up notes, accents, fermatas, dynamics, crescendos and diminuendos, staccato, legato and more. Commonly used bar chords are also covered. Helpful footnotes remind the teacher to introduce or review concepts as students progress through the book.
