Description:

The Loftis Method for Piano, Book 1 has been used successfully by piano teachers nationwide as a primer for beginning students (ages 4 through adult). Since 1984 The Loftis Method has helped thousands of students get off to a fast and fun start. Regardless of age, all students gain an understanding of the basic fundamentals of "keyboard logic" while progressing through The Loftis Method. Each new concept is presented clearly and succinctly. The 36 pieces are presented in the middle-C position using alphabet letters rather than notes. For example, a C whole-note appears as the letter C 2 3 4. Half-notes D and E would be presented as D 2, E 2, etc. By counting outloud with the teacher as they play, students learn to practice with an even tempo. The Loftis Method for Piano is a fun and easy way for students to begin their study of the piano. Book 1 is also ideal for home schooling parents who wish to introduce their children to the piano.
