Description:
Since 1984 The Loftis Method for Piano, Book 2 is
usually presented as a sequel to Book 1, but it may also be used as a student's
first piano book (at the discretion of the teacher). In Book 2 the student
progresses through 79 fun and carefully graded pieces which help him/her
master note reading in the middle-C (two thumbs on C) position. Included
in Book 2 are detailed appendices including a glossary of terms, a note
identification page and a rhythm practice sheet. The teacher is free to
tailor the material and the order of presentation to fit the age, level
and ability of the student. Some of the concepts presented in Book 2 are:
note and rest identification, time signatures, division of beat, rhythm
study, dotted notes, sharps, flats and naturals, tied notes, eighth-notes,
pick-up notes, accents, fermatas, dynamics, crescendos and diminuendos,
the damper pedal, staccato and legato touch and more. Helpful footnotes
remind the teacher to introduce or review concepts as the student progresses
through the book. The Loftis Method for Piano, Book 2 is also a 79 song
resource for recital pieces. |
